Altered cage , home decor

Home decor is something I love making, and to specially reuse something and give it a new look is my favourite thing to do. I can never throw away anything. I hold on to things, people and almost everything.

This is something I picked up on my vacation  to Singapore. It was a simple photo frame. With a rustic gold look.

Once I came back home it never matched anywhere in my house, it was dull among the bright and colourful space.

So I altered it,
first I took chalk paints and painted it white, basically chalks paints adhere stronger to the base and give a mat look, there are also good for covering up the previous paints because of chalk content in them waited for it to dry and painted it with blue acrylic paint.
Next, for the behind I decoupaged a brick texted paper, and filled it with coconut fibre.
The fibre is brown but u can paint it any colour by dipping it in paints with water or just rubbing them  with paints between your palms
For the photo frame part I chose a rusted pink/purple paper so that it looks like a wallpaper of the room that can been seen when u look into the window from outside.
Filled the whole thing with flowers to make it look like the flowers are on the window bed.
I added a cycle on the left corner, to make it look like the cycle is parked on the wall outside the window.
I really liked making this and loved how it turned out.
If you liked it too leave me your comments or if you feel something is wrong or out of place do let me know

Name plate

Hello,
This is my first post on this blog and I’m really excited..
the blog is still under construction and I’m loving the journey of designing and learning new things, meeting crafty people.

My first post is going to be about a decoupage name plate..

Pink is one of my favourite colour, it makes me happy when ever I see it and this name plate is at the entrance of my house.
This made years ago and I finally got the courage to start a blog and page.

Do message me if you want to know how I created this piece or have any doubts about decoupage, I’m not an expert but I’ll help u to the best of my knowledge.

Also, should I upload pictorials? ( picture tutorials)

Thanks for stopping by and taking your time to read my blog!
Feedback’s and comments are deeply appreciate!
Loads of Love!
