Coasters

Hi,
I hope you had a great crafty weekend :)

So today I am going to tell you how i did this coaster.

To start of I got my base from here. Sanded the places imperfections if any, i usually buy from here and haven't found any with a 120 sand paper. use a red sand sandpaper if you don't find that number. it easily found at any hardware store.

Next step is to give a good coat of paint. if you are using acrylic paint give two coats of paint, if you are using chalk paints one coat is good enough

Here I'm using decoupage paper so it doesn't matter what is your base color. if your are using napkins you need to give a correct base color. I'll put up a tutorial on how to work with napkins soon. please stay tuned.

Once the paint has dried, cut the paper to the size of the paper, use mod podge or decoupage glue to adhere the paper to your base, don't be scared its easy. if you feel intimidated to apply glue for the whole surface and stick, start by gluing down small potions at a time and cover the whole surface.

once you have done gluing down all the paper to your base, make sure all areas are stuck, and go over them with a layer of mod podge or decoupage glue, which ever you have used. this helps is the coaster to not change color once varnish or if any part isn't glued properly it helps it stick correctly.

once all the steps mentioned above are done and the painting is also neat, glue down the bases pieces together, you can use the same use you used for paper or fevicol to glue the base. use a varinsh on all sides and let it dry for 24hours.

viola your coasters are ready!
if you have any doubts pls get to back to me here
i'll be happy to help you.

Thank you for stopping you!
